Nice piece. Makes one think about how pandemic could’ve been handled differently. How much good could’ve resulted from taking nursing home patients outside for an hour or more per day? How simple and cheap and mentally uplifting it could’ve been. Families could’ve joined them outside. Breaks my heart at what happened to seniors.
During April 2021, even the fatally compromised Atlantic & mainstream comedian Bill Maher were extolling the virtues of sunshine & fresh air. I covered it in a Substack article the same month. Ignoring this reality in favor of masks & distancing (and ultimately mRNA jabs) was clearly deliberate and highly coordinated.
I have a theory that people who work outside had a layer of protection due to spending more time in the sun. I wish I had the means or ability test it.
