Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, announced on Thanksgiving Day a “general amnesty” for all those whose Twitter accounts were suspended under the former management.
This will includes dozens, if not hundreds, of doctors, researchers and others whose accounts were “permanently suspended” under Twitter’s “Covid-19 Misinformation Policy.”
They include Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Peter McCullough, Dr. Andrew Bostom, Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, Dr. James Hill, Dr. Paul Alexander, J. Jay Couey, PhD, Jessica Rose, PhD, tech inventor-researcher Steve Kirsch, researcher Edward Dowd, author-researcher Naomi Wolf and countless others.
On Wednesday, Musk took a poll, asking users:
“Should Twitter offer a general amnesty to suspended accounts, provided they have not broken the law or engaged in egregious spam?”
Users responded enthusiastically, with 72 percent saying YES, and just under 28 percent saying NO.
As he did with the poll asking whether President Donald Trump’s suspension should be lifted, Musk assented to the will of the majority, writing:
“The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week.”
He added:
“Vox Populi, Vox Dei” — Latin for: The voice of the people is the voice of God.
There are more than 55,000 comments under the poll.
One commenter wrote that going forward, rules and penalties for breaking them should be clear and enforcement of rules should be “unbiased” with "mechanisms of enforcement” not able to be “easily abused by people who have an agenda.”
Musk responded by saying that the more he learns, “the worse it gets” — an apparent reference to an agenda-driven censorship that had taken over Twitter before he acquired it.
“The world should know the truth of what has been happening at Twitter,” he wrote.
Brandon Straka, the founder of the Walk Away movement, commented, asking Musk to also lift so-called shadow bans that have decreased the number of people who see posts by many conservatives on Twitter.
“Our audiences follow because they want to see our content. Please free our reach,” he wrote.
Several doctors who’ve shared information that is critical of or contrary to the federal government’s Covid-19 narrative have been shadow-banned.
This means that while they are on Twitter and posting to Twitter, their posts rarely appear in the Twitter feeds of those who follow them. They are hidden.
Shadow-banned doctors include: Dr. Joseph Mercola, Dr. Pierre Kory, Dr. Ryan Cole and Dr. Joseph Ladapo, the surgeon general of Florida.
Musk did not respond to Straka’s request.
One more reason to be thankful today. May it be followed by a flood of people posting links to the new documentary, "Died Suddenly" now available on Rumble for free viewing.
Fantastic. Thank you for reporting on this, Margaret!
